Obituary
Lucille Gertrude Ross was born in Baltimore, Maryland April 1, 1928. Her life ended June 8, 2022. Lucille was 94 years young. Lucille is preceded in death by her parents Cora Cornish, Charles Dobson, her husband in whom she deeply loved Sidney J. Ross Sr. of 49 years, daughter Angela Yvonne Davis, three brothers, Nathanial, Paul, and Charles (Bubby), and three sisters, Coreen, Ruth and Grace.
Lucille is survived by six children, Sidney James Ross Jr. and wife Janet, Norman Everett Ross and wife Peggy, Vivian Michele Ross, Robin Juanita Ross, Jaime Harris Ross and wife Valerie, David Anthony Ross and wife Sabrina. 12 Grand Children, 31 Great-Grand Children, 5 Great Great Grand Children, and 4 Great, Great, Great Grand Children.
On May 6, 1949 Lucille married the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Sidney. For the rest of their lives they lived in Wilmington, DE. Together they had seven children Angela, Sidney (Butch), Norman, Vivian, Robin, Jaime and David.
One of the best hobbies Lucille loved is reading. She would read everything she could get her hands on. The biggest was when she was given the Watchtower and Awake! magazines. She couldn’t get enough of them! Lucille loved music, especially Jazz, and loved to dance. Lucille also loved to play board games, cards and Chinese Checkers. She was a vibrant woman who had a beautiful sense of humor.
Lucille received her high school education at Howard High School in Wilmington, DE. She was an excellent homemaker. She was also a counselor for Ferris Boys School. Also, she worked for different retail stores in downtown Wilmington.
Since reading was a real passion, Lucille began to ask questions about the Bible and began to study with Jehovah’s Witnesses. Because all her questions were answered from the Bible, she acquired enough knowledge that she dedicated her life to the God of the Bible, Jehovah. So on December 20th, 1969 she symbolized her dedication by means of water immersion. On that day she became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Lucille loved helping people to gain an accurate knowledge of the truth found in the Bible.
